Dissertation Editing

Over my career, I’ve edited hundreds of dissertations, theses, and academic essays. I help students use precise language and impeccable grammar as the foundation for building strong paragraphs. My specialties include nursing (DNP), education (EdD), and working with writers who speak English as a second language. I provide stellar formatting services for references, tables, and figures using AMA, APA, Chicago, and MLA styles.

Medical Editing

I’ve copyedited book-length works for medical organizations such as the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses (NAON) and Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) and publishers such as Books of Discovery. I’ve also freelanced for the American Medical Association (AMA), formatting references for AMA journals.

Titles I’ve copyedited include the following:

  • Functional Anatomy for Occupational Therapy (Books of Discovery, 2021)
  • Applied Anatomy & Physiology for Manual Therapists (Books of Discovery, 2020)
  • Infectious Diseases in Context (Gale, 2018)
  • Scope and Standards of Orthopaedic Nursing Practice (NAON, 2017)
  • Orthopaedic Surgery Manual (NAON, 2017)
  • Leadership in Nursing Professional Development (ANPD, 2016)

Nonprofit Publications

I edit white papers, annual reports, policy briefs, and grant proposals for international organizations including USAID, the WHO, and the World Bank. My clients include the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and Dina Towbin and Associates.

I’ve also written and edited content for membership organizations such as Rotary International and the Legal Marketing Association. I use AP and Chicago styles and can create custom style guides for clients. I’m an expert at fact-checking, formatting citations, proofreading, and reviewing PDF layouts.

Educational Publishing

I have extensive experience with K–12 ELA, science, and social studies programs. My clients include major educational publishers such as McGraw-Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and McDougal Littell, and intermediaries such as Contentra, Kepos Media, LearningMate, Symmetry, and Thomas J. Riggs. In addition, I’ve edited higher education content including the Gale Cengage Literature of Society Series, Gale Encyclopedia of Multicultural America, Worldmark Encyclopedia of Religious Practices, St. James Encyclopedia of Popular Culture, and more.

I also have strong assessment writing experience across a variety of disciplines using Bloom’s taxonomy, Webb’s depth of knowledge (DOK), and Lexile. My areas of expertise are biology, earth science, ELA, history, and political science. Some of the programs I’ve written for include McGraw-Hill’s Common Core Achieve, American Government, American History, and US: A Narrative History. I’m well-versed in various standards, including CCSS, NCSS, NGSS, and Florida state standards.
